Nothing Lasts Forever Bill Murray

Nothing Lasts Forever

I just read an article in Slate about how, back in 1984, a science-fiction comedy film was made called Nothing Lasts Forever. It was directed by Tom Schiller, who had been a writer on SNL. The cast included some of the big stars at the time, including Bill Murray of course.

Update: We originally had an embedded video of the movie posted here, but it appears that the Warner Bros. had YouTube take it down. At any rate, here’s a link to the trailer.

  1. Warner Brothers Entertainment, you are IDIOTS!

You are blocking a short clip from a film that is 30 years old from being shown? Do you really think that clip is going to cut into sales of that 30-year-old film? NO, actually, it might cause a few CDs to be purchased or downloads to be made or at least a few viewing On Demand (where the current crop of WB crap would be getting advertisements, if you had any brains at all).

Read the The Long Tail, you idiots.

Of course, for you to be reading this, you’d actually need to have somebody in your multi-billion dollar company that kept an eye out for “Warner Brothers Entertainment” appearing online, something ELSE you probably haven’t thought of.

Ahhh, well, I don’t have the time to Google your address.

  2. Seriously, I was interested enough to check out a clip, maybe rent the movie, but sight-unseen? And now that I know WB isn’t interested in me seeing it? Seems like a waste of time to track it down when even the owner doesn’t want me to watch.
