We’d like to thank Cindy for sharing the following story.

Doing work for the Toronto International Film Festival in the mid-90’s I had occasion to regularly cross paths with a lot of celebrities, so I wasn’t habitually star-struck around famous people as a rule.

Anyhow one sunny hot September (or late August) Sunday afternoon I was at an industry party. It was one of the more informal annual film festival events at a large private home. Guests ranged from local Toronto film people to one of the cast members of the TV show “Friends” which was big at the time. I wasn’t feeling well and while in the kitchen getting some ice water, I was unpleasantly groped in the process by a very rude, very drunk famous director. Continue reading

At a Ramada Inn

Editor: Today’s Bill Murray Story is from Riley. Thanks!

Before I knew about this website, I just considered my Bill Murray story strange, but NOW I see the relevance. So, a few years ago, my dad took the whole family (mom, sister, and myself) to NYC to see his band perform. We were staying in a small Ramada just outside the city and it seemed to be pretty dead with only one or two other people in the lobby when we showed up.

Later that night, I decided to take a quick swim in the 4ft deep hotel pool. I walked into the pool area and who’s the only person in the whole room besides me? Bill Fucking Murray. When I walked in, he was reclined (fully awake) in a beach chair by the pool, staring at the ceiling and didn’t really pay me much attention until I made my way over to the pool stairs (trying to make this whole exchange as least awkward as possible).

I was about two steps away from his chair when he SHOOTS up, gets about three inches away from me, looks me dead in the eyes and says one word – “Jump”. At this point, I know there is no point even trying to reply so I just stood there in pure amazement. “Jump or I’ll push you in“. Still I just stood there so he shrugged and started past me when suddenly he reaches out and shoves me full-force into the pool. I couldn’t believe it! Once I finally resurfaced, he leaned down to me (still standing in the pool) and said, “You could tell someone, but they won’t ever believe you“.

Bill, The Ball Cap, & The Pool

Editor: We’d like to thank Jess for her Bill Murray Story!

While working at a Native American casino in Connecticut, numerous celebrities were brought in to celebrate the grand opening of a new addition to the property. Along with Bill Murray, Jimmy Fallon and Paul Shaffer were there as well.

While at a roulette table, Bill Murray was approached by a couple holding a baseball cap and pen, obviously wanting him to autograph it. After twice refusing gently, the couple still shoved the baseball cap into Bill’s face. After their third attempt, Bill snatched the cap, chewed its bill for a few seconds, then handed it back to the couple. It took them a while to realize what just happened, but after a few seconds, they took their baseball cap and left.

The following day, Bill was at the swimming pool, tossing kids into the pool left and right…not his kids, just kids that happened to be playing there when he arrived.
